In this third lesson of a three-lesson unit, learners will explore solutions to mitigate the impacts of potentially severe weather changes resulting from a strong El Niño event. Based on their research, learners will create and present "The Next El Niño Survival Guide."
In What is El Niño? - Part 1, learners defined El Niño conditions from an analysis of satellite-based remote sensing sea surface temperature data and identified 2015-2016 as a potentially strong El Niño event. In Part 2, learners determined the impact of a strong El Niño event on their own local regions. Now, they will research appropriate actions to be taken before and during the weather changes resulting from a strong El Niño event in their local areas and use tht information to create and present "The Next El Niño Survival Guide."
