The SEA Lesson Plan Library offers STEM lesson plans and supplemental materials for grades K-12 enhancing understanding of space based technologies especially satellites and satellite-based remote sensing. Each lesson module appeared in More Lessons from the Sky, a regular feature of the monthly SEA Newsletter online. The Library includes original lessons created by educators knowledgeable and experienced in using satellite technology and remote sensing data in a K-12 classroom and spotlights relevant and noteworthy lessons already in publication. Each lesson module consists of Teaching Notes and Student Activity. The Teaching Notes section includes:

• Introductory invitation
• Planning Guide
• Student learning outcomes
• Description of student activity and suggestions for classroom implementation
• Important vocabulary terms relevant to the lesson
• Assessment suggestions
• Next Generation Science Standards addressed
• Preparation guidelines
• Background information about the lesson content
• Acknowledgement of all contributors to the lesson plan
• Extensive list of links to related resources
• Easy online access to specific resources required for selected lessons
• Answer key, if needed

The Student Activity pages contain all materials for distribution to learners including a Your Turn list of extension activities for application and demonstration of understanding.

All lesson plans are freely available on-line from the Satellite Educators Association. The lesson plans are checked and updated annually to insure current content and links. On-line search tools help teachers find lessons addressing specific Next Generation Science Standards disciplinary core idea or science & engineering practice; search by lesson title or National Science Education Statndards addressed. Additional lesson resources are available in the Library for selected lessons.
